The Hamlet quote that stood out to me was, “when the blood burns, how prodigal the soul lends the tongue vows.” This quote spoken by Polonius in act I scene III means, when one is hot, energized, irritated, or angered ones mouth takes control and words are easily gather and quickly spoken. This quote stands out to me because it highlights a piece of my personality. When I am “fired up” or my “blood burns,” I quickly and unconsciously speak without thinking, in order to acquire my point. Life during Shakespeare was actually similar to our lives now, even doe there are many differences.
